Friday's 3:00pm 4-Stop Brewery Tour

Touring/Sampling: Catawba, French Broad, HiWire and Pisgah Brewery

This tour meets at the Zebulon Vance Memorial, which is in the heart of downtown Asheville at the intersection of Patton Avenue and Biltmore Avenue at 3:00pm. From there it is a short ride to the South Slope and our first stop Catawba Brewing. Since 1999 Catawba has produced exceptional flagship styles such as their Firewater IPA and Seasonals like the King Don's Pumpkin Ale. With a variety of ales on tap everyday it is easy to see why Catawba appeals to all beer drinkers.  Next, we head down into the Historic Biltmore Village to French Broad Brewery. With year round favorites such as the German influenced Gateway Kolsch, English 13 Rebels ESB, American West Coast IPA and the Wee-Heavy-Er Scottish Ale it's no wonder why French Broad's motto is, "World Beer, Asheville Flavor."  From French Broad we head to HiWire's brand new large scale production brew house know as the Big Top. HiWire brews the only true year round Lager in town as well as a variety of Ales such as the Prime Time Pale and Bed of Nails Brown. HiWire has a large bottling line and conveniently packages their products for distribution.  Finally we head out to Black Mountain to visit Pisgah Brewing.  Pisgah is known for using only whole leaf hops and organic ingredients to produce a wide selection of beer styles through-out the year. The 11 year old brewery is well known for their flagship beer the Pisgah Pale Ale which they can and distribute in 6 packs. Pisgah also has the largest outdoor concert stage in the area which hosts several nationally touring acts every year. After our 4 stops we drop off back downtown at the Vance where you'll find the rest of the Beer City at your fingertips!
